I am a freelance writer and editor creating content for entrepreneurs, creatives, and business owners seeking to scale their business through inbound marketing. I offer marketing content, ghostwriting, and editing services in the areas of sexual health, feminism, social justice, mental health, chronic illness, education, and parenting.

In addition to my freelance work, I’m editing my first novel, Learning to Love Her, a story of a newly disabled woman who learns about the infinite power of love while grieving the loss of her child and the life she planned.

  • K-5 Literacy Facilitator, Waterbury CT School District August 2014-April 2021

    Served as a literacy subject matter expert for 2 bilingual elementary schools in a majority-minority school district.

    During the period: trained a cohort of 35 teachers on the science of reading and best practices for literacy instruction resulting in an overall literacy growth of 65.4% compared to a CT state average of 59.9%.

    ● Led a cohort of 35 educators to make instructional decisions that were; in line with student needs, research-based, flexible.

    ● Trained teachers to use DIBELS assessments to guide literacy instruction based on student profiles.

    ● Used embedded cognitive coaching strategies and relationship-building to facilitate staff buy-in.

    ● Researched, created, and presented district-wide teacher development training.

    ● Managed and coordinated the efforts of 5 reading teachers and tutors and provided resources and training to improve their effectiveness.

    ● Created and revised curriculum documents in accordance with the CCSS and vision and mission of the ELA department.

    ● Stayed abreast of the science of reading and dyslexia remediation.
